Elliott's Keep was founded by three former members of the band Marauder, after the passing of their friend and
Marauder vocalist/rthym guitar player, Glenn Riley Elliott.

Elliott's Keep

Marauder, a doom metal band, played the
Dallas club scene in the mid-90's. Marauder's disbanding
coincided with the Dallas Metal club scene drying up,
with the closing of Dallas staples such as "The Basement"
and "Dallas City Limit". The members of the band
stayed friends after Marauder dissolved and were
grief stricken by his unexpected passing in November
of 2004 at the age of 36. Elliott's Keep,
currently consisting of Ken on bass guitar,
Jonathan on lead and rthym guitar
and Joel on drums, chose the name to honor Glenn
as they continue to play the style of music
he loved. Elliott's Keep is a doom metal band
with epic lyrics and a medieval and fantasy influence.
Musically, Elliott's Keep draws its influence from a wide
array, from Dallas Doom legends Solitude Aeturnus,
to European metal acts such as Blind Guardian and Epica.
Lyrically, the band draws on literary and film as well as
history for reference.

The internet has grown tremendously since the band
first formed as Marauder. Now, bands are no longer
limited by record companies as they hope to get signed.
The metal community can now find new bands through web pages,
blogs and mp3s. Elliott's Keep intends to use this medium
to share their music with metal fans,
not just in the Dallas area,
but around the world.
